Stock Photography
This body of work focuses on nature and environmental issues from many countries. All photos in the Portfolios are copyrighted, however they available for publication or reproduction on a "Rights Managed" basis. This means that in order to publish or reproduce a photo or group of photos, you need the written permission of the photographer (Dennis Minty or Antje Springmann). To receive the permission you would buy a "Usage Licence" that sets out the terms and conditions for you particular use of the image(s). These terms and conditions are negotiated with you based on your needs. The photographer normally retains ownership of the images and the publisher is given some specific and limited usage of the images. This is a relatively low cost option that gives publishers access to professional quality photos without the costs and time associated with hiring a photographer directly. The cost is negotiated and variable depending on the type of use you want. Factors that influence the price include the medium type (magazine, website, book, etc.), the placement and prominence of the use (cover shot, home page banner, etc.), the size of reproduction, the duration of the use, the geographic distribution of the use, and the degree of exclusivity required. For example, short-term use on a small company website would be fairly low-cost, whereas the use of an image as a two-page spread in a widely distributed magazine would be higher cost. Additional uses, after the first negotiated use, are subject to additional costs.
Consider the photos shown here in the Portfolios as a starting point, a general overview of the kinds and quality of images available.
